Day Three - Stonethwaite to Grasmere
Mon. 11th May 2009
Overnight:- Gillercombe:- An absolutely fantastic place to stay. From the moment we were told off as we walked through the gate "Don't you dare walk into my house with them muddy boots on" "I hope your not wet, I'm fed up of you lot arriving wet and having to dry off your clothes" We were put in our place from the start and knew exactly where you were. As we finally made our way into Gillercombe we were ordered straight upstairs to wash, shower and to get back down for tea and buiscuits. 15minutes later we were back down. Rachel also known to us as "Major" (Sergeant not John) was great and ran a lovely B&B. Breakfast we were told (not offered) was full English and would be at 8:00 sharp (we were there) and would stay at Gillercombe again if the oppertunity came along.
